Guess what? The yellow pages as a printed book are on their way out. You knew that already, right?!
Have you looked at Google to find out if your business is listed and listed correctly? Its easy to do:
1. Go to Google Local.
2.Click Add New Listing and follow the instructions.
I suggest all businesses do this. It only takes five minutes and helps people find you.
Having problems managing your day? I’m a fan of these three books and recommend them to anyone who is growing a business and/or finding that 24 hours in a day is not enough.
If You Want It Done Right, You Don’t Have to Do It Yourself!: The Power of Effective Delegation
(the link leads to Amazon.com — click on the Used copies link– its a lot cheaper)
This is a book by Donna Genett. Donna is a Vistage speaker. She spoke to our group over one year ago and all of the members of our group remember to re-read her book when we slip into delegation forgetfulness. The book is story about an executive learning to delegate. It will take 1-2 hours to read this book and another 1-2 to make the list of things you should start delegating and how.
Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity

David Allen has started what amounts to a productivity cult. His GTD book has migrated into a major business. The book is focused on personal productivity and the ideas are practical.
The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich
(links to Amazon)
This book is a lot of fun to read. Very practical information for personal productivity, but some of the ideas are outside the comfort zone of most people. I like about 75% of the book, but there are elements that are a little quirky for me. Maybe its b/c I’m from the South.
The last two books are supplemented by web sites where readers/fans can learn more and use practical “how to” resources. For instance, David Allen’s site has a process workflow diagram that helps one understand how to handle incoming items. I encourage you to visit these sites.
I’ve been asked by a few people about my sales proposal template. So, I thought I’d put a short walkthrough of the basic ideas together and post it to the web.
The walkthrough is a ten minute Flash video that shows the Sales Proposal Template (Word Doc) and my commentary.
There is also a YouTube version.
If you’d like me to review your proposal style or upcoming proposal, just send a note or comment here.
If you are in business development, sales, or marketing, I’d love to hear from you on the format and order. This document can always improve.
